Wills Creek Agricultural Committee

The Wills Creek Agricultural Committee will be responsible for coordination of the Leatherwood Creek Pasture Management Program. Leatherwood Creek is a subwatershed of the Wills Creek Watershed which is responsible for contributing sediment to Wills Creek. This cost-share program will compensate landowners for increasing pasture management techniques through the application of lime and fertilizer and water system development. The following individuals have agreed to sit on the Agricultural Committee.

Wills Creek Education Committee

The Education Committeeâs primary focus is to educate and a raise public awareness regarding watershed issues throughout the Wills Creek Watershed. In doing this, education committee members will be coordinating several educational activities. Educational activities include planning and developing a watershed issue based interactive CD-ROM for area schools. This CD-ROM will be an educational tool for area schools to learn more about water quality and area watershed issues. In addition to the CD-ROM, an area watershed information booklet will be developed to inform Wills Creek Watershed Residents about local watershed characteristics and concerns. Other activities include the publishing of the "Wills Creek Watershed News" newsletter and assistance in the coordinating the Wills Creek Volunteer Monitoring Program. The following individuals have agreed to sit on the Wills Creek Education Committee.

Wills Creek Monitoring Committee

As part of the Wills Creek 319 Project, the Wills Creek Monitoring Committee is taking the initial steps in gathering much needed water quality data throughout the Wills Creek Watershed. In order to fully assess water quality, the committee will be responsible for gathering chemical, biological, and physical habitat assessment data. Committee efforts will focus on screening subwatersheds for evidence of acid mine drainage (AMD) and sedimentation. To assist with the data gathering process and further build public awareness, the Monitoring Committee is planning and coordinating the Wills Creek Volunteer Monitoring Program. The following individuals have agreed to sit on the Monitoring Committee.
