Stream Monitoring

In order to assess the impacts land use activity and non-point source pollution are having on water quality, we have established the Wills Creek Volunteer Monitoring Program. This program will be used as both an educational opportunity as well as a way to gather much need water quality information throughout the Wills Creek Watershed. Volunteers will be called upon to assist agency personnel in gathering biological, chemical and physical habitat assessment data. This data will then be analyzed and compiled so that management decisions can be made in order to improve the water quality of Wills Creek and itas tributaries.

Volunteers of various ages and educational backgrounds have already signed up to participate. If you are a concerned landowner, school teacher, area sportsman, or area student this is good opportunity for you to learn about your area water resources. If you would like any information on the Wills Creek Volunteer Monitoring Program or want to know how you or your organization can become involved, contact Sandy Chenal at (330) 339-9317
